‘Bystander’ to go to Germany Filmfest

Iran animation ‘Bystander’ is set to be screened at the 14th edition of Detmold Int’l Short Film Festival in Germany.

Directed by Sheida Kashi, ‘Bystander’ is to compete in the German film event.

‘Bystander’ is a cinematic depiction of society that does not accept differences and is heading for annihilation.

It is about an old man who is living behind a window from where he sees a dark world and remembers his past when he was an active revolutionary.

The 8-minute animation recently won the second prize in the animation or experimental film section of the 21st edition of the Faludi International Youth Film Festival and Photo Competition in Hungary.

Founded in 2005, Detmold International Short Film Festival is held annually and hosts films made by innovative filmmakers from Germany, Europe and around the world. The festival focuses more on non-commercial short films. The event showcases documentary films, animated and feature films, as well as experimental films.

The 2018 edition of the event is slated for June 21-24, in Detmold, Germany.
